PROXA’s holistic view to total water management allows us to create value for our clients – in a sustainable way – by using the life cycle cost approach. This concept extends far beyond the traditional concept of design, construction and commissioning of water systems, but includes their subsequent management, operations, maintenance and the operating costs associated with electricity, chemicals and consumables. This ensures sound asset management and maintenance that extends the life cycle of water infrastructure, as well as the on-going improvement of its economics in the long term.
As part of our strategic focus to optimise life cycle costs, recover valuable resources and protect the environment, PROXA offers a full range of complementary professional water management services, including:
Our engineers modernise existing water and wastewater treatment plants or design and construct new ones – incorporating the latest standards, technologies, regulations and sustainability practices.
PROLAB© is PROXA’s technology centre, whose team members are driven by curiosity and a desire to unlock creative, effective, short-path process solutions that enable clients to increase outputs, reduce cost, and build their bottom line.
PROLAB© is fully equipped with both bench scale and skid-mounted pilot plant equipment that is capable of testing a diverse range of unit operations, on- or off-site to enhance confidence in process selection and performance. The centre also performs water analysis, membrane autopsies and projection modelling and is home to one of our most valuable assets, the R&D division. In addition to our own pioneering work, PROXA also collaborates with the University of Cape Town, University of Stellenbosch, Delft University in the Netherlands and the Water Research Commission (SA), Coaltech, Sasol and Eskom, among others.
