CERadvance was established in 1999. Initially called GTC ( Groupline Technical Ceramics), the company was established to fill a market gap for specialized engineering ceramics outside of the manufacturing base of standard and commodity products. Low cost imports from far-eastern exporters was one of the main driving forces which made the start-up directors look at isolating higher value added products that would be of little interest to bulk / volume suppliers, and that needed higher levels of marketing, manufacturing and supervisory skills as well as qualified and specialized materials-based design inputs.
This privately owned company has since gone from strength to strength, starting off with Ceramic Injection Moulding and diversifying into various different forming techniques such as pressing and casting. At the forefront of ceramic technology in South Africa, the company is a technology partner to Research Institutes, Universities and a wide range of customers in the Petro-chemical, Minerals processing and Metallurgical industries. CERadvance interacts with all interested and affected parties in a professional and structured manner, be it employees, suppliers, regulatory authorities and local municipal authorities.
